Craigs Park, Edmonton, North London
May 2023
Plated inspired by ornate decorative patterns, such as those found on plates using patterns and images to tell stories of the parks and those who use them. The toilet block in Craig’s Park witnesses weekly football matches, picnics and lively playground gatherings. Immersing ourselves in the tapestry of these everyday moments, we felt that photorealism was essential to capture the true essence of the vibrant characters who brought these spaces to life.
We took these characters and patterns and turned them into unique floating worlds similar to that seen on Chinese porcelain. The patterns around the building are inspired by the climbing frame which can be found in the children's playground. A structure that we playfully manipulated, rotated, and repeated around the building.
