Oral Histories
This project marked a shift in our working process, beginning with collecting ideas and then finding a space for the mural to call it's home.
We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with New Cross Learning and Meet Me at the Albany to record and celebrate the stories of New Cross and Deptford’s elder generations. These voices—sharing memories from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s—have inspired us deeply. From work to parties, love to loss, fashion to food, and the resilience and joy that runs through it all, these stories are a window into the heart of our community.
A special thank you to Gill, Joan, Kelvin, Maureen, Jeanie, Ron, Rosalind, and Jim for sharing your narratives with us. Your stories are the soul of this work.
